Ministries

St Johns is a worshipping community that seeks to share the love of Christ with all people.

Below is a brief summary of some of the ways the love of Christ comes to life at St Johns.

Please contact the office for further information regarding any of the ministries provided.

Spiritual Growth

St Johns strives to be a place where members and friends regularly engage with God’s word in meaningful ways.

In addition to Sunday worship, seminars, bibles studies and congregational camps are held regularly to draw our community closer together in Christian devotion and discipleship.

Children’s Ministry

Children are welcome at all services and are considered a vital part of the St Johns worshipping community.

Activity sheets, themed in accordance with the worship service are available from the ushers, as are soft toys for younger children.

A parenting room in the worship area (with bathroom facilities) is also available for use.

An example of the active and creative role of our children in the life and ministry of St Johns can be seen in the Noah’s Ark mosaic gracing the courtyard.

Sunday School

During the school term, children meet during the 11am service for specially prepared activities linked to the church’s liturgical year.

These sessions are suitable for pre-school and primary school aged children and provide a safe, friendly and fun environment in which to learn about Jesus.

Youth

The youth group caters for high school aged children. It meets for social and spiritual growth activities on the first Saturday of each month. All are welcome.

St Johns Newsletter

The St Johns congregation regularly produces a publication entitled ‘The News’.

This newsletter keeps members up to date with various activities at St Johns and aids in strengthening our relationships with God and each other.

Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated at St Johns during our Sunday worship services.

Both children and adults are welcome to receive this gift of God.

Step Up To Communion

Children aged between 8 and 11 years are welcome to attend Step up to Communion.

This short course teaches the value of the Sacrament of Holy Communion and prepares children to receive it for the first time.

Confirmation

Aimed at children in their early teens, our confirmation course provides in-depth Christian education in a fun and interactive environment.

The confirmation course culminates with participants publicly confirming their faith in the triune God at a special confirmation service.
